Cenference Center Pond
This is one view of the Conference Center. We will be getting married on the patio under an arch overlooking the pond. Our guests will be on the patio under the covering of the building to the right behind us.
Our Reception
We will have our reception inside the building on the left in the picture above. It is called Grand Hall 2. We will rent Grand Hall 1 incase it rains and we can't get married out by the pond. Since we are renting the 2 rooms anyways, we will remove the divider between the two rooms and have the whole 10,000+ square feet for our reception! I can't wait.
In the picture below, we will be getting married in the pale yellow corner between the bright blue and the bright purple sections. Guests will be seated or standing in the bright purple. After the ceremony is done, guests will walk up the gray (steps) across the pink (hallway), and into the dark green rooms (Grand Halls 1 & 2).
Taste of Valdosta
On Saturday April 4th, we are doing a semi-tasting with our venue. It is called Taste of Valdosta. A lot of restaurants gather together at the Conference Center, and the chefs make sample sizes of their food. People pay a donation at the door and buy poker chips, which they exchange for food. The Conference Center Chef will be there making food, so Brian and I are going to go and sample his food. If we like it, then we will book the Conference Center, and we will have an official wedding date!!
Venue Booked!!!
My mom and I went to the Taste of Valdosta on April 4th. The food was awesome, especially the cheese grits!!! On April 6th, we officially booked the Conference Center for Feb. 20, 2010. I am so excited that the first big check is done!
Unity Candle Holder
I absolutely love this unity candle holder set. I also like one on Ebay, but I'm not sure which one we will end up getting.
Ceremony Music
So far, we are going to have "When I Say I Do" by Matthew West while we light our unity candle. I have a couple CDs of wedding music that I like for before and after the wedding, and I will get specific names of songs in here later.
